Who We Are

The Carlee Cause

The Carlee Cause was named in the memory and honor of our golden retriever, Carlee, who touched the lives of so many people throughout her 12 years before her heartbreaking and untimely death. We believe her life had a greater purpose and with her death we felt as though we had to fulfill that purpose.

Through the immense grief of Carlee's loss we felt called to help advocate for enhancing the lives of pets and their owners in Gaston and surrounding areas. The Carlee Cause has a mission to give comfort, understanding and support during the times of grief while building a basis to both save and enhance the lives of as many of God’s creatures as possible.

Our Mission

We want to help pet owners who are grieving the loss of their pets. We want to be another resource in the area of "lost and found" so that more pets and owners can be re-united. We want to help unwanted, unloved and broken pets find love and security in new homes where they will be cherished as much as we cherished Carlee. We want to join other organizations and sponsor pet friendly events to help educate the public regarding the importance of spaying & neutering to help control over population.

Ultimately we want to raise the necessary funds and resources to help establish a local no-kill shelter, where animals can be housed and cared for-free of the threat of euthanasia-while they await adoption. The Carlee Cause has lofty goals and our vision is big but Carlee had a big heart and so do we. Join us as we strive to bring the same compassion and joy to Gaston County pets and owners that Carlee brought to all who knew her.
